In 2024, Freeburg Law engaged a recruiter for a nationwide search for an up and coming divorce lawyer. We considered dozens of candidates, but only one candidate knew she wanted to be a family law attorney from a young age. Meet Jesilyn “Jess” Davis.
Jess grew up in Alabama. In her own life, she saw first hand the difference a good lawyer made.
She knew intuitively that emotional intelligence mattered to the practice of law. She sought out psychology and counseling classes at the University of Alabama, where she graduated with a degree in psychology, human development and family studies. She chose Samford University in Birmingham for law school, where she focused on family law.
As a practicing lawyer, she started in the trenches. She began by working on contentious custody cases in a small Birmingham law firm, but soon found her footing in high-net-worth disputes. She works closely with tax planners, financial professionals, and business advisors.
Like the rest of the Freeburg Law team, she’s comfortable representing politicians, professional athletes, and entrepreneurs. She takes professional pride in a well-crafted custody agreement and is committed to ongoing education surrounding best practices in counseling and family development.
